Biography

Charlotte Kaslin is a highly accomplished cellist known for her expressive solo performances, compelling chamber music collaborations, and leadership in orchestral playing. A founding member of the award-winning De Beauvoir Piano Trio, she has earned widespread recognition for her artistry and musical versatility.

Her numerous scholarships and accolades include the Thompson Family Charitable Trust Award, the Peter Halling Memorial Prize, and the Ann Driver Trust Scholarship.

As a sought-after chamber musician, Charlotte has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Maxim Vengerov, Miguel da Silva, Alasdair Beatson, Josephine Knight and Maria WÅ‚oszczowska. She also enjoys frequent collaborations across Europe with her sister, pianist Luana Kaslin.

The De Beauvoir Piano Trio, praised for its success in international competitions, regularly performs at prestigious venues across the UK and Europe. The ensemble’s awards include 2nd Prize at the Virtuoso & Belcanto Competition (Italy, 2021) and 3rd Prize at the IX Stasys Vainiunas Competition (Lithuania, 2022). Recently, the trio was selected as Ensemble in Residence for the 2025 Britten Pears Young Artists’ Programme.

Charlotte has participated in leading festivals such as IMS Prussia Cove, Encuentro de Santander, and the Lewes Chamber Music Festival.

Alongside her chamber and solo work, Charlotte is an accomplished orchestral player. She has appeared as principal cellist and other leadership roles with esteemed ensembles such as Aurora Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, Opera North, Appassionato Orchestra (Paris), Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra 430 de Vigo (Spain).

Charlotte’s artistry has been shaped by mentorship from celebrated musicians including Steven Isserlis, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Gary Hoffman, Steven Doane, Troels Svane.

She performs on a Julian Bachellier cello.
